Commitment to Peak: Performance Excellence for All Kids

Teachers using the Teaching for Excellence Model™ embrace a philosophy and approach to teaching more apparent in settings outside of school – parents teaching children, friends teaching friends, employers teaching employees. We use instructional methods that are similar to how we would teach our own children our content at home. We establish standards and use the best possible practices until those standards are met. When we care deeply for our learners and it is important they learn our content, we use a different set of filters for the instructional decisions we make. The center of the framework is anchored by the commitment to Performance Excellence for All Kids (PEAK).

Teaching for Excellence™ is loaded with powerful and very important strategies and techniques for raising achievement and increasing the likelihood our students will succeed. Many of the strategies can be implemented immediately and easily. Others require help to use them in current school systems.

Any new strategy brings challenges and considerations to ensure student success. If school is going to be a place where virtually ALL students succeed at reaching standards, then school must be different from what it currently is. This is not to say that traditional practices are wrong. They have always worked for some students; they just aren’t adequate for reaching ALL students.
